“For me, coming back to work in this sector within EF Solare means living this historical moment as a protagonist, especially considering the leadership role that the Group plays at national and international levels. It means a big daily responsibility which at the same time is extremely exciting for me.”

#SOLARPROFESSIONALS – THE IDENTIKIT OF SABINO LORUSSO, CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Sabino Alberto Lorusso – Chief Financial Officer

Compared to your previous industries, what motivates you in this new experience in the energy market within a large group like EF Solare?

Working in the energy sector today means being at the heart of international and national macroeconomic dynamics. I believe that in this historical moment the need to decrease our energy dependence on other countries and to limit the impacts of climate change are leading to renewed attention to the development of renewable energy sources. For me, coming back to work in this sector within EF Solare means living this historical moment as a protagonist, especially considering the leadership role that the Group plays at national and international levels. It means a big daily responsibility which at the same time is extremely exciting for me.

What will be the main challenges your management team will face to support the company’s growth?

EF Solare is a large and fast-growing group operating in a highly uncertain and dynamic sector, especially in this very delicate period. Therefore, maintaining the balance between the necessity of financially sustainable growth, the need to protect the assets in compliance with the rules, and the importance of achieving the strategic goals – which the management sets itself and which the shareholders expect – will be crucial for the Group. It represents our main daily challenge.

What is your advice for those who want to take up this profession and approach the solar energy industry, which is increasingly strategic for the Italian and the European economy?

Our area plays a central role in the development of the solar energy sector, as many financial players are strategically involved in renewable energy investments. However, the solar energy industry still needs to grow financially, through operations and new investments, and develop new competencies. The constant changes in the entire renewables industry will require new skills and knowledge. Therefore, the best advice I can give to those who want to approach this profession is to invest in their skills, be curious, forward-looking, and above all, ready to embrace change, especially toward a more sustainable future.
