“I believe that in today’s working and social context the winning companies will be those that are able to ‘evolve’, going beyond the Head Count paradigm and moving towards the Heart Count paradigm, relying on fundamental aspects such as involvement, motivation, passion, and direct participation in the results of the common growth project, thus exponentially multiplying the positive energy expended and the engagement of everyone.” Ubaldo Zanetti, Head of Human Resources & ICT at EF Solare Italia.

#PROFESSIONISTI DEL SOLARE – UBALDO ZANETTI – THE VALUE OF HUMAN RESOURCES

In a historical context of great transformations and global crises, it becomes necessary to support the development of increasingly flexible and sustainable business models that know how to enhance and put people at the center. Indeed, the value of human resources in a company is essential for its existence and development. Adapting to faster social, technological and cultural changes is an essential challenge to be highly competitive.

Today, it is essential to invest in human resources and their energy, and therefore EF Solare is committed to enhancing the value of its people through a mutual exchange of skills and training.

At EF Solare we know that the Group’s success necessarily depends on the people who work every day to create, step by step, a development path capable of leading the company to new goals. In order to learn more about our company’s focus on human value, we interviewed Ubaldo Zanetti, Head of Human Resources & ICT at EF Solare Italia.

How important are people within a company? What projects have been implemented and are soon to be developed to increase the wellbeing of people at EF Solare?

The development of a business or a company inevitably comes from people and their commitment. Every day, thanks to dialogue and the qualities that everyone brings to the work groups, we create interactions, projects and new ideas that provide new motivation for the growth of the company and the achievement of increasingly ambitious goals for the Group and the entire sector. It is fundamental for us to always work with a smile, which is necessary to build a serene environment and achieve quality output, two integral elements of a successful project.

This is where our constant commitment to listening to our resources comes from, with the aim of making EF Solare more and more a company that reflects our values.

To this end, we have pursued the development of various listening and sharing tools.

In the first months of the year, a survey was carried out to highlight not only our strengths, but also some elements to be improved. Currently, through dedicated working tables made up of colleagues from different areas, we are working to make EF Solare more like what we imagine it to be: increasingly ‘tailor-made’ and green!

This spring we all had the opportunity to meet for a two-day team building event. This experience allowed us to share intense moments that, for pandemic reasons, we had not experienced for several years and recharged all of us with new energy for the important growth goals ahead of us.

At the same time, our important training on hard and soft skills is continuing, and we are constantly monitoring our approach to flexible working to understand how well this is aligned with the company’s industrial goals and the needs of our colleagues.

In such a flexible working environment, what role does the HR team play? What are the main challenges you face?

HR’s task is crucial as it is called upon to channel the primary force that produces an enterprise: the energy of people.

Companies today are facing a very complex challenge: a cultural change in society that has daily impacts on corporate life disrupted by dynamics never experienced before.

First of all HR must be aware of the cultural change we are all experiencing in order to be able to implement it in turn; the next step is to guide the company and its colleagues to take the best that this historical moment is giving us, both as members of the same company/community and as individuals.

In this path, it is also necessary to mention the fundamental role of Information & Communication Technology, as an indispensable element for the implementation of this cultural change, as well as an enabler of the HR policies we have mentioned.

In this area too, the company is constantly evolving, focusing its efforts on the computerization of processes, the digitalization of information and the goal of an effective and increasingly efficient ‘service’ to colleagues.

What are the best strategies to create a united and ambitious environment in a company facing today’s challenges for the future?

This is a good question, but one that cannot be answered in a single way. There are no predefined recipes for what can be considered a true living and changing ecosystem.

Every company has its own culture, its own complexities and goals and is at a particular moment in time, but above all, every company is made up of different people with their own dreams and expectations.

What a company needs to do through its HR team is to understand the culture that characterizes the interactions (formal and informal) between people to enhance it every day through listening, discussion and the definition of clear and shared corporate goals.

Summarizing what I have learnt during my professional career, I believe that confrontation, transparency and a serene and proactive climate often help in building a goal-focused company that really looks to the future and wants to achieve important goals.

I believe that in today’s working and social context the winning companies will be those that are able to ‘evolve’, going beyond the Head Count paradigm and moving towards the Heart Count paradigm, relying on fundamental aspects such as involvement, motivation, passion, and direct participation in the results of the common growth project, thus exponentially multiplying the positive energy expended and the engagement of everyone.
