“We are aware that it is only the beginning of a long path leading to new energy, environmental, economic and social models in line with the principles of circular economy. In this path, which we are undertaking together with our stakeholders, we want to generate common value for the well-being of our planet and our society. We want to design an increasingly sustainable future, always taking care of the people who are our energy. ” – Andrea Ghiselli, CEO of EF Solare.

OUR ENERGY FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE: THE 2021 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT OF EF SOLARE

EF Solare, with more than 1,300 GWh of energy produced in 2021 between Italy and Spain thanks to over 300 photovoltaic plants, confirms itself as a major player in the European energy landscape for the ecological transition. EF works daily to implement projects and solutions for a sustainable future.

EF Solare contributes to sustainability through its core business: the production of green electricity. Over the years, it has adopted a sustainability-conscious approach in all its activities, inside and outside the offices. All ESG projects and initiatives have been tracked in the Group’s sustainability report.

Following on from the 2020 reports, EF Solare presented the third edition of the Sustainability Report simplifying the reading of the results achieved in 2021 thanks to a new layout and an interactive use of the document. The 2021 ESG Report describes our commitment to doing business sustainably, in favor of people and the environment, always keeping in mind the external scenario and its unexpected and disruptive developments.

Solar energy continues to be the driving force of Italian and European renewables. Starting from this, we at EF Solare have been working for years to propose an efficient and sustainable growth model, based on increasingly integrated projects with the territory and the widespread adoption of digital technologies. In 2021, thanks to the production of clean energy from the new El Bonal plant in Spain and the optimization of the performance of existing assets, we avoided the release into the atmosphere of more than 600,000 tons of CO2, equivalent to the Co2 emission of more than 3,000 Rome-New York airline flights. During the past year, the Group decided to strengthen its role and enrich its activities by introducing important innovations for the company and the entire photovoltaic industry:

-achievement of two of the most important ISO certifications (ISO 14001 for environmental impact management and ISO 45001 for worker health and safety);

-review of the organizational structure of Operations aimed at strengthening the control of our assets thanks also to the continuation of the internalization process of O&M and the integration of the plant monitoring system in Italy;

-creation and dissemination of strategic skills and know-how for the development of photovoltaics through joining the main industry events and active participation in internal and external training courses for the development of new professionals in the sector;

-continuous engagement and dialogue with political institutions and territorial organizations for a progressive optimization of the legal and regulatory framework;

-development of the new model of agro-photovoltaics with zero land consumption, which will allow an increasing integration of plants in the territories and dual use of land.

” said Andrea Ghiselli, CEO of EF Solare.
